Hello and welcome back to the Year Five Blog!
So here we are - the end of a well-deserved two week break! I hope you all had a good Easter and enjoyed your time off school, making sure that you recharged your batteries all ready for the busy half term ahead.
We had a super, action-packed end to the term starting with the fabulous Drama Club's production of Hook and Peter Pan and ending with a cracking Celebration Assembly.
We wouldn't have it any other way!
Hook and Peter Pan
In Year Five, we were incredibly lucky to be invited to watch the dress rehearsal of this fantastic production. I also went on the last night of the performance and it was even better and that's really saying something as it was pretty amazing on the Monday!
Congratulations and well done to the incredibly talented children from Year Five who were a joy to watch. I was so proud of you all!
Celebration Assembly
A huge thank you to everyone who came along to our end of term Celebration Assembly!
It was a lovely assembly and I still can't believe how many stripes were awarded to so many children especially as it was such a short half term and we lost three days due to the snow.
Now, there are some super photographs (courtesy of Mrs Schnorr) but unfortunately they are 'stuck' in my camera because I can't find the blooming lead anywhere! I have turned my house upside down in the process but have a sneaky feeling that it is hiding somewhere in the depths of DMS!
Watch this space...
Busy, busy...
Now, if you were thinking that you would have a gentle start to the summer term then I'm afraid you are very much mistaken!
On Friday, we will be off timetable all day as it is our Year 5 E Safety Day that will welcome an outside speaker. This will be coupled with Cyber-Bullying Workshops run by members of staff.
Next Thursday (26th April), the whole of Year Five will be off to see Dippy the Dinosaur! Letters came home before the Easter Holidays so please make sure that the slip and money is returned to school as soon as possible.
I went to see him in the holidays, as I'm sure many of you did, and it really was an impressive sight to behold! We are very lucky as members of the Dippy on Tour Team are going to work with the children when we go - I can't wait!
So, that's it for this week! Make sure you check the Blog next week, especially as there will be (fingers crossed) pictures from the Celebration Assembly.
We are so looking forward to seeing you all on Monday - it's seems like an age since we last saw you!
Have a good week everyone!
Mrs Ray
(who is looking forward to coming back to school so that she can stop eating!)
