Hello and welcome back to the Year Five Blog!
We had a fairly 'normal' week this week (if there is such a thing?) so we are really cracking on with our learning which has been tremendous fun.
However, there is still plenty to report to you.
Children in Need Part Two
Along with the sales from the School Shop - the school raised an incredible £1073.50 for this important charity.
Here are a few more pictures from the day - thank you to Miss Enever for being our roving photographer!
Seed Dispersal Homework
A few weeks ago, I told you about 5CW's fabulous Seed Dispersal homework and included a few examples through the medium of photography.
Well, we were so impressed with what 5CW achieved we all decided to give it a go and what a cracking results!
This is Lukas Neill's Money Tree - the best comment ever was made when he was presenting it to the class "My Mum said that money doesn't grow on trees - clearly she was wrong!"
I will put a few more examples on the Blog next week.
Uniform reminder
We have spotted a few pairs of rogue trainers being worn in Year Five! Whilst we appreciate that school shoes have a limited life span and take quite a battering on the feet of children, it is important that, where possible, school shoes are worn at all times.
If trainers need to be worn into school for a limited period of time then a quick explanation in your child's Home/School diary will be required.
The following has been taken from the school website as a reminder:
Boys Uniform
- School sweatshirt
- Light blue school polo shirt
- Black or dark grey trousers
- Grey/Black/Navy/White socks
- Black shoes - all black, no sports logos (not trainers or boots).
Girls Uniform
- School sweatshirt
- Light blue school polo shirt
- Navy blue skirt or smart navy blue or black school trousers (dark)
- Black shoes - (suitable for school wear - high heels are NOT suitable. No trainers or boots, no sports logos).
- Grey/black/navy tights (thick) or grey/black/navy/white socks
Please note that it is stated above that no boots should be worn in school. If there is no other option then they can be worn under trousers.
So, that's it for another week. I'll be back next week with lots of pictures (we had problems downloading them this week!) and look forward to sharing what we got up to with you.
Have a good week everyone!
Mrs Ray
