Nearly there...

Hello and welcome back to the Year Five Blog!

With just one more week until the end of term, we have certainly been packing it all in!
We have had another busy with another one on the horizon.
Let's see what Year Five has been up to this week...

Speed Sharing

This was the last set of our Speed Sharing sessions for this year and Mr Chadwick was, yet again, delighted with the writing that he was shown by the children of Year Five.

It is such a joy to witness these occasions as both Mr Chadwick and the children thoroughly enjoy the whole experience.

Buddy Picnic Planning

We've met, we've planned, we're ready for Monday's Buddy Picnic!
I've checked the weather forecast (several times) and, at the risk of sounding like a party pooper, it's not looking good. Don't panic though, we have a wet weather plan in place.

Please don't forget that we have asked you not to bring in fizzy drinks, energy drinks and sweets. We all want to have a fun time and it would be such a shame if our reasonable request was not respected.

Summer Fair

Thank you to everyone who attended the PTA Summer Fair on Friday. It was another lovely evening and it was great to see everyone having such a good time.

The proceedings were kicked off by the unveiling of Zak Trevett's amazing painting, officially unveiled by the Mayor of Dorchester. It is proudly displayed in our Reception area and is a very welcome addition to the school.

A huge, huge thank you to everyone who kindly baked scones for our Cream Tea stand - they were absolutely delicious and a huge hit with everyone. We would also like to thank Lukas Neill's Mum for the delicious home-made jam and to Miss Enever for saving the day by getting the cream, plates and back up jam.

There was such a lovely atmosphere and it was great to see so many of you there, supporting our school.

Scone/Scone

The final result is....

...that Mrs Daniel cheated so outrageously that there is no outright winner!
Nice try Mrs Daniel, nice try!

Celebration Assembly Reminder

All the classes have been rehearsing away to be ready for this Monday's Celebration Assembly.

Here is a sneak preview of 5GR's contribution...

We are all really looking forward to seeing those of you who can come bright and early on Monday morning. Don't forget that we are aiming to start at the earlier time of 9.30am

Well, that's it for another week! Have a good week everyone and I will look forward to seeing you back here next week to read the last post of the year before this blogger has a bit of a rest over the holidays.
