Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Hello and welcome back to the Year Five Blog!

Another busy and enjoyable week under our belts with a few wet plays (groan) and a very soggy start to the day on Friday! I hope you all have had a good week too?

Let's crack on with this week's news...

Worth a Mention Children

A huge congratulations to this week's Worth a Mention children! Well done for getting your names on the board this week, a fabulous achievement indeed.

Golden Time

Image result for happy minions

Only seven children missed their Golden Time this week which is one of the lowest weeks yet so well done Year Five.
Just one child was in Detention this week.
The main reason for children missing their Golden Time this week was not getting Reading Records signed or not having read this week. This is so easily fixed - don't leave your reading to the last minute Year Five and have a pen in your hand ready for your adult to sign your Reading Record!
Simples!

Year 5 Footballers

Words by Mr Roberts:

DMS v Wyke Regis Junior School
Result: DMS WON 3-0. UNBEATEN SO FAR IN 2015/16
Our Year 5's were ironically buoyed by the prospect of facing a Year 6 team from Weymouth, like pack animals, each supported their team mates, nothing was going to subdue the county schools resolve.
There was  no grogginess to the start of this tense game,no misgivings, just an unrivalled attitude of winning and with style.
Wyke could not have anticipated the damage would be so severe when striker Jacob weaved his chaos into the heart of their defence and the never say die ethos of Captain Toby dispossessed  time and time again.
This was total football,a masterpiece,a lesson in how to play our beautiful game.
Well done Year 5

Mr Roberts
Well done Year Five boys, what a fabulous result!

Instructions
This week, a couple classes have moved onto looking at Instructional Texts in our English lessons.
One of the first tasks we have to do is to see how good we are at following oral (spoken) instructions.
This is what 5AD got up to...

 Mmm, varying results.
Let's see if 5ER fared any better...

Not really!
I wonder how the rest of you will get on with this task when you get to it?

Visitors in the Corridor
So, there we were, cracking on with our English lesson on Friday when, out of the corner of my eye, I spotted an entire Year Six (6TH) class outside Mrs Daniel's classroom.
You know me, not one to miss a photo opportunity...

What on earth were you doing?
Let me know in the comments section, you'll get a citizenship credit if you do!
