Time and Space?

Hello and welcome back to the Year Five Blog!

At the time of writing, we are now officially on half term so I hope that you are all enjoying the beautiful weather - whilst it lasts!
We had a great end to another short week so let's have a gander...

Celebration Assembly

A huge 'Thank You' to everyone who attended last Wednesday's Celebration Assembly. Although it was short and sweet, I was so impressed with the number of children who earned stripes.
Here are a few pictures from that very assembly.

Thank you to Mrs Schnorr for taking the pictures!

I know that quite a few of you were on the cusp on gaining certain stripes so stick with it, keep working hard and we'll look forward to celebrating your successes at the next Celebration Assembly.

Dorchester University

After half term, we will all be embarking on our final DU Modules of the year and what a fabulous first year it has been!

Mrs Schnorr and I took our group to the Dorset County Museum to have a look at a selection of their Alfred Wallis paintings.

On our return to school, I spied Mrs Daniel and a shopping trolley!

The Garden and Chickens Module have been busy growing plants from seed. I am now the proud owner of sweet pea plants, sunflowers and rocket that I have dutifully planted in my garden.
Watch this space!

Ruby Reports

Our intrepid photographer Ruby was handed the sacred Year Five camera and took it into her Technology lesson.

What great pictures Ruby - well done! It looks as though you are cracking on with it in your Resistant Materials rotation.

Well, that's it for this week. I'll be back after half term where I'm sure I'll have a lot to report back on. 5MW are about to embark on a rather exciting writing task and I know that we have been planning some rather super English lessons for you.

I hope you all have a super week and I will look forward to seeing you back in school (which will be before we know it!)

Mrs Ray

(who will be flying out to Nice to see her Mum this half term. Can't wait!)
