Hello and welcome back to the Year Five Blog!
Another fabulous week under our belts! Honestly, I'm starting to sound like a stuck record aren't I?! The highlight of our week was definitely World Book Day, more of that next.
So, are you sitting comfortably?
Then I'll begin...
World Book Day
What a fabulous day! You are looked marvelous darlings, simply marvelous!
At 11.45am, a bell rang and everyone had to, quite literally, drop everything and read!
After school, Book Group met and took part in a really good quiz devised by our Librarian, Miss Osbourne.
Can you tell which one she is?
A huge 'Thank You' to Miss Hobern and Mrs James for facilitating such a tremendous day - we all enjoyed ourselves so much and loved the fact that we were able to celebrate our love of reading.
Times Table Rock Stars
In Mrs Ray and Miss Enever's Maths Group, we have fully embraced Times Table Rock Stars and you can hear us, quite literally, rocking out every Monday morning. The progress the children have made in their Times Table knowledge has been phenomenal. Every child has made progress and improved their scores since they started. Everyone except for this child...
He's been exceptional since Day One. He certainly is a 'Headliner' in more ways than one!
Super Schools
Just a couple of super pictures from last week's Super Schools.
Thank to Mr Roberts and the PE Department for providing our children with such a unique opportunity.
The children are still talking about it now!
Parent Consultations
It was lovely to see so many Parents/Carers at this week's Parent Consultations. There was a really positive vibe in the Gym and it was so good to be able to discuss the children's progress in Maths and English.
Please remember that I will be in the Gym this Monday to make up for not being able to attend the 27th February Consultations.
Worth a Mention Children
Massive congratulations to this week's Worth a Mention Children!
A fabulous range of reasons why all ten of you are all on the board which is a huge achievement in itself!
Well done one and all!
Stars wear Stripes
How are you all getting on with our Stripes? This young man came in to pass something on and ended up on this week's Blog!
Always approach my room with caution!
Advance Notice...
Just to let you know that our next Celebration Assembly will be on the last day of term - Friday 7th April at 9.30am in the Drama Hall. It will run for around 45 minutes and we are already planning it!
Hope to see you there.
Well, that's it for another week! I hope you all have a fabulous week and that you all tune in next week to see what the children have been up to. Please don't forget that you are very welcome to leave comments on the various posts - you know I love it when you do!
Mrs Ray
(who is rather pleased with her subheading 'Stars wear Stripes'. Am I blowing my own trumpet a bit too much?!)
