Hello and welcome back to the Year Five Blog!
Another week under our belts and what a busy week it has been! We have also got a lot coming up over the next fortnight so batten down the hatches and here we go...
Visits from Year Six
You know I was telling you about 5AD's Year 6 Visitors last week? Well, blow me down with a feather but a few Year Five classes were graced with Year Six's presence!
6NR (the former 5GR) came and shared their writing with us and really got us thinking about what actually happened to those three lighthouse keepers.
It was so lovely to see the old gang with the new gang! Thank you for sharing your excellent work with us.
French
Now, there is a rumour going round that some rather super and jolly singing was going on in French lessons this week?
Miss Enever managed to catch 5ER in action...
What on earth were you doing?!
Card Games
English lessons are a lot of fun in Year Five but sometimes you do need to question 'Is this English?'!
This week, a few of the classes had lots of fun playing card games, er, no, sorry, I meant 'following instructions'!!!!
Yes, I did join in but it was purely a numbers thing, honest!
Worth a Mention Children
A HUGE congratulations to the children who have been selected as this week's Worth a Mention child.
It is always lovely to see why your names are on the board and it's great to see such a wealth of reasons for this super acknowledgment.
Well done!
Golden Time
This week just five children missed out on their Golden Time so well done for that Year Five.
Fantastic!
Fundraising Fortnight
Don't forget:
Hot Chocolate Cafe on Tuesday during break time in Room 5
A Cake Sale on Thursday in the Year Five Corridor during break time.
Don't forget to bring cakes to sell if you can!
Deposit Reminders
Just a quick reminder that permission slips and the £10 deposit are due in by the 2nd February.
Celebration Assembly Reminder
Another reminder for you! Our next Celebration Assembly is on Monday 8th February starting to near as 1.10pm as possible.
Labels will go into the Home/School Diaries over the next few days to let you know if your child will be receiving a certificate.
Assessment Fortnight
In order to check the children's progress on a more formal basis, we will be testing them in Maths and English over the next fortnight.
As a result of this, we will not be setting any homework (apart from spellings).
I can hear the cheering from here!
Sparky 5AD
Talking of homework, Miss Enever spied these rather impressive homeworks in 5AD.
What on earth (geddit?!) have you been up to?
So, that's it for another week!
Have a good week everyone and keep those comments coming! Don't forget to put your christian name and home base with your comment so I know who to give the credit to!
See you back here next week!
Mrs Ray
