Happy Christmas Everyone!

Hello and welcome back to the last Year Five Blog of 2014!

I have lots to share with you from an action packed and very busy week in the life of Year Five so without further ado, here goes...

Celebration Assembly

A huge thank you to those of you were able to attend Monday's assembly - all 80 of you!
It was such a joy to see so many children receiving certificates and to see their hard work and perseverance being acknowledged in front of such an appreciative audience.

The singing was beautiful as well wasn't it? My heart melts when I hear our children sing and I always need to have the tissues on standby! A big thank you to our brave shepherds who came out to the front and sang their hearts out. A gorgeous performance.

Here are a few pictures of the assembly...

Cake Sale

On Tuesday, we held a cake sale to raise further funds to help support Save the Children's Ebola Campaign. This was the last fundraising event to support this specific charity. Thank you so much to all of you who donated cakes, we had so many scrummy cakes that we were able to repeat the experience the next day!

We have managed to raise, so far, the grand total of £358, what a fantastic achievement! Thank you for all your support, together we can really can help make a difference.

5PC ICT Whizz Kids

Miss Enever was out and about with her camera and spied 5PC making incredible Christmas Cards through the medium of ICT! What an impressive creativity - lucky recipients!

Speed Sharing

As promised last week, here are a few more pictures of Year Five's Speed Sharing sessions with Mr Chadwick. It was such a positive experience for everyone and we can't wait to show off our writing at the end of next term to our impressed Head Teacher!

Taekwondo

5KD, along with Mr Duffy, experienced a Taekwondo session during their timetabled PE lesson this week. It was an excellent session and the children learnt a lot, not just a few impressive Taekwondo moves!

Apparently, Mr Duffy's arms and shoulders are really aching - is anyone else in 5KD experiencing the same aches and pains?!

Well, that's it for another week, in fact, that's it for this year! A huge thank you to everyone who has read the Blog over the last few months, and a special Thank You to the brave souls who have battled with Google and who were able comment as a result.

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and may 2015 be a cracking year for us all!
